Digital Topographic and Planimetric Mapping

Fugro-BKS produces accurate and aesthetically pleasing planimetric and topographic data that can meet the specifications of any GIS. The company is also at the leading edge of aerial triangulation technology and techniques, and offers a bureau type service at very competitive rates for clients worldwide.

 

DEM/DTM

By applying the latest equipment, software and techniques to aerial photography and satellite imagery, Fugro-BKS can generate highly accurate terrain datasets that provide a realistic representation of the ground's surface.

Digital terrain models and elevation models are used to correct the distortion of scanned images (satellite/photographic) in orthophoto production, simulation modelling and communications planning.

Digital Orthophotos

Fugro-BKS has been producing orthophoto mapping for over three decades. Today's digital orthophotos are regarded as the ultimate tool for any GIS, offering the same accuracy as a standard topographic map of the same scale but with the added visual content of aerial photography.

An accurate and striking base map, applications for digital orthophotos include environmental management, engineering design, planning databases, retail and resource management.

Map Revision

Fugro-BKS has provided map revision services to National Mapping Agencies, Local Authorities and Private Sector clients, updating the national map base for a wide range of clients including the UK's Ordnance Survey, IGN, National Land Survey of Sweden and the Government of Isle of Man.

Terrestrial

Employing the same principle as used in conventional mapping techniques, Fugro-BKS uses terrestrial/close range photogrammetry to produce accurate 2D or 3D surveys of building elevations and floor plans for use in building conservation and restoration, architectural surveys, structural monitoring and site surveys.
