Laser Mapping

Laser mapping or LiDAR (Light Detecting and Ranging) has emerged as a rapid, highly -accurate and non-intrusive method for surveying large corridors such as roads, embankments and railway lines.

Unlike traditional aerial photogrammetry, LiDAR data can be flown year-round during the day without regard to sun angle, and integrates three technologies – LiDAR, global positioning systems (GPS) and inertial navigation systems (INS) – into a single system to produce accurate digital terrain models (DTMs) of the earth’s surface.

Helicopter-based FLI-MAP LiDAR for Corridor Mapping

Laser Mapping HelicopterFLI-MAP® Fast Laser Imaging and Mapping Airborne Platform is a unique helicopter based scanning laser system, which integrates state-of-the art surveying techniques, such as LiDAR, with high-resolution photo and video imagery to obtain high accuracy data of infrastructure corridors.

FLI-MAP provides an innovative and cost efficient solution for corridor coverage (75m - 125m).

Fixed-wing LiDAR for Wide Area Coverage

Bare Earth Height ModelThe fixed-wing system is ideal for wide area aerial mapping applications such as the generation of digital elevation models, topographic contouring and automated feature extraction.

Using LiDAR for DEM and contour generation is faster than using conventional photogrammetic techniques and less susceptible to data collection problems, as data can be acquired during the day or night.
